Welcome to the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee Job Opportunities Page!
The State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis are proud to be the host of this spectacular event which will be held for the first time on Hoosier soil. It is a testament to the talent of our residents that the NFL Owners chose Indianapolis as the site of their most prestigious game of any year.
IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO KNOW
Staff Positions
Successful applicants for any of these staff positions will come to us with previous volunteer and special events experience. Our staff members will be working with Host Committee Volunteer Leadership, community leaders, volunteers, NFL representatives, and other stakeholders. Project management, consensus building, problem solving, written and verbal communication, and a strong customer service focus are skills that are required. Staff members must be able to switch priorities on a moment’s notice and, while you will see job descriptions on this web site, additional responsibilities may be added as our plans unfold.
We also have a strong commitment to reflect the diverse nature of our community in both our paid and volunteer staff positions and our goal is to include a broad range of community representation. We are an equal employment opportunity employer and employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law.
Our paid staff positions vary in both their duration (from 12 to 30 months) and start dates (late 2009 through March of 2011). We will not begin reviewing applications for a position prior to 90 days before the posted start date. Only on-line applications will be considered. If you have already sent us a resume seeking a job opportunity, please resubmit online. Job postings and employment start dates are tentative and may be subject to change. You are welcome to bookmark the site and check back as the application period gets closer.
If you’re just looking to improve your resume, you need not apply. Tickets, parties, and hanging out with players and owners are not part of this experience. But if you want to play a special part in Indianapolis’ history – and have the qualifications and skills to make a strong contribution – please consider applying. We can’t guarantee an interview, but all applications will be read. Intern Positions The 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee is committed to providing an Internship Program that offers undergraduate and graduate students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of sports. The program enables students to work on specific projects under direction of the Committee Chairs and Staff Management, and is tailored to provide the maximum educational benefit to each participant. A variety of internships will be offered over the next two years during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. All internships are unpaid positions with free parking. Please note, all summer internships are full time and fall/spring internships are a minimum of 25 - 30 hours per week. Only candidates who are able to work these hours with no compensation need apply. The application period and internships dates for the next three internship opportunities is: 2010 Summer Internships (full time) Application Period: January 31 - March 31, 2010 Internship: mid-May 2010 through mid-August 2010 2010 Fall Internships (minimum of 25 - 30 hours per week) Application Period: May 1 - June 30, 2010 Internship: early September 2010 through mid-December 2010 2011 Spring Internships (minimum of 25 - 30 hours per week) Application Period: September 1 - October 31, 2010 Internship: early January 2011 through mid-May 2011 Assignments may extend over two internship periods in certain circumstances. Internship applications will ONLY be accepted online. We encourage prospective interns to not only consider applying for summer internships but to apply for the fall and spring semesters which will be just as rewarding and less competitive. The ideal intern will be an energetic individual who is willing to do anything asked of them including administrative duties, can work flexible hours and enjoys a fast-paced sports environment.
